FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State women's tennis team suffered its first defeat of the fall season on Sunday with a 5-4 setback to Bethany (W.Va.).
 
Coming into the day, the Bobcats collected wins over Hood (6-3), Penn State Altoona (8-1) and Pitt-Greensburg (7-2) and the loss to the Bison drops FSU to 3-1 overall.
 
Junior Allison Paul rallied for a three-set win at No. 2 singles over Brooke Provenzano, 3-6, 6-4, 10-5. Earlier in the day, Paul joined junior Elizabeth Mott for an 8-3 win over Fran Capaldi and Haylee Frazier.
 
First-year Shea Przywieczerski won No. 5 singles with a 6-3, 7-5 victory over Frazier and sophomore Sophia Staggers defeated Capaldi to take No. 6 singles, 7-5, 6-1.
 
The match against Bethany closes out the fall portion of the Bobcats' schedule and they will return to action in March.
