FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State women's tennis team was defeated by Division II Fairmont State University, 8-1, at the Cordts Tennis Complex Sunday afternoon.

In No. 1 doubles freshman Kate Paylor and senior Kennedy Logsdon dropped an 8-3 decision, while in No. 2 doubles junior Ashley Smith and freshman Jenna Lipinski were bested, 8-5.
In No. 3 doubles the duo of freshman Emma Seibert and freshman Allison Paul were defeated 8-6.
Lipinski picked up a win, 6-4, 6-1, against Emily Hart in No. 4 singles competition. The victory moves Lipinski to 3-1 on the season.
Seibert, who played up a spot in No. 3 singles, fell in three sets 6-0, 3-6, 10-6.
At No. 6 singles, freshman Sammi Turner made her first start of the year, and dropped a 6-2, 7-5 decision.
The women's team will be back on the court Friday, Oct. 7 when the Bobcats host Geneva at 6:00 p.m.
