FROSTBURG, Md. – Freshman Kayla Truesdel had a hand in three wins and the Frostburg State women's track & field team totaled seven victories as it hosted the 2015 Bobcat Invitational, Saturday.
Meet ResultsThe Bobcats had 11 wins or runner-up finishes and finished with four wins in the track events.
Truesdel had the best individual performance of the day for FSU as she won the 200-meter dash (26.03), the 400-meter dash (60.22) and was the fourth leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that posted a victory in 4:18.86. Sophomore Amy Virostek, along with freshmen Erin Early and Destiny Logan were the other three members of the winning 4x400 team.
Sophomore Casey Columbus kicked off the meet in stellar fashion winning the 3,000-meter steeplechase in 14:09.04. Freshman Briana Wilson rounded out the wins on the track in the 100-meter dash with a 13.08.
While Frostburg posted four wins on the track, the Bobcats also collected two wins in the field events.
Senior Alexis Bush hit the lone ECAC mark of the afternoon after winning the long jump in 5.42 meters (17ft. 9.5in.).
Freshman Zoe Harris earned her third-straight top-five finish in the javelin after posting a win with a throw of 35.42 meters (116ft. 2in.). Sophomore Tiffany Cancel earned runner-up finishes in both the discus (33.32 meters/109ft. 4in.) and hammer throw (33.85 meters/111ft. 1in.).
Virostek captured second place in the 400-meter hurdles (69.38), while sophomore Alexis DeVault finished runner-up in the 5,000-meter run (20:25.99).
The Bobcats return to action next Saturday at the Messiah Invitational.
