FROSTBURG, Md. – Junior Alexandra Darrow had a hand in all five Frostburg State University goals in a 5-0 shutout win over Transylvania, Saturday.
Box ScoreDarrow assisted the first two goals of the game and scored the final three to carry the Bobcats (2-1) into tomorrow's championship of the 2014 FSU Tournament. FSU will face Washington College at 12:30 pm on Sunday after it defeated Kenyon 5-1 earlier this afternoon.
Not to be outdone, junior Jackie Best scored the game's first goal just 1:59 into action and assisted on Darrow's final three goals.
Senior Courtney Abell also got in on the action, handing FSU a 2-0 edge at 6:48 off of Darrow's second assist of the game.
FSU outshot Transylvania 26-11 behind 13 shots in each half. Sophomore keeper Jaqueline Gover made three saves in a little over 44 minutes of action to earn the win. Freshman reserve Nicole Leighty added three saves while playing 25 minutes of the second stanza.
