FROSTBURG, Md. – Junior Malory Brunett notched three second-half goals but the Frostburg State women's lacrosse team couldn't overcome a 16-7 deficit to St. Mary's (Md.) in both team's regular-season finale, on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

The Bobcats and the Seahawks finished the second half with four goals each, but FSU couldn't recover from the St. Mary's 12-goal first half performance.
The Seahawks (8-8, 4-3 CAC) were responsible for the game's first three goals. Senior Brittney Miller, after being honored on senior day prior to the game with classmate Megan White, got the Bobcats on the board at 25:13 off a free-position shot.
After surrendering two more goals, FSU's freshmen twins Megan and Molly Hart scored back-to-back goals to bring the Bobcats within two, 5-3 at 17:44.
St. Mary's closed the first half scoring action by ringing up seven goals for the 12-3 advantage.
Defensively, sophomore Marissa Howk and freshman Emani Byrd caused a total of nine turnovers. Freshman Dylan Teitalbaum suffered the loss despite notching 10 saves.
Shelby Newman paced the Seahawks with six goals and five draw controls while Tori Poffenberger netted three goals.
FSU caps its 2014 season with a 4-12 overall record.
