NCAA Women's Lacrosse Preview: #6 Frostburg State vs #3 West Chester

STROUDSBURG, Pa. - The Frostburg State Bobcats open NCAA Tournament play on Thursday, May 7 at 2 PM, taking on West Chester in an Atlantic Region first-round matchup.

Frostburg enters the postseason riding momentum after capturing its fourth consecutive Mountain East Conference Tournament Championship, improving to 16-3 overall and extending its winning streak to six games while setting a new program single season record for wins. The MEC Tournament win gave the Bobcats an automatic bid to the NCAA regional tournament, where they were ranked sixth by the committee. FSU has been fueled by a balanced attack and defense both being ranked in the top 20 nationally.

West Chester, the No. 3 seed in the region, brings a wealth of postseason experience into the matchup. The Golden Rams are making their 19th NCAA Tournament appearance and hold a 23-16 all-time record in tournament play, including two national championships. With a 15-4 record this season, The Golden Rams have a top 10 offense in the country, scoring 17 goals a game.
This will be the first-ever meeting between the Golden Rams and the Bobcats, as the game will be held at East Stroudsburg, the two seed and host of one of the Atlantic Region pods, who will play the winner of the two teams.
