FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State University women's tennis team suffered a narrow 5-4 defeat to NCAA Division II Clarion, Thursday afternoon.
The Bobcats (2-9) grabbed an early lead after taking two of three doubles matches. Senior Amber Beckman and freshman Kennedy Logsdon posted a slim 9-8 win at No. 2 doubles, while the freshman duo of Ashley Smith and Sara Hildebrand also earned a 9-8 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Smith later captured an 8-2 victory at No. 6 singles and was the Bobcats' only double winner in the match.
Frostburg returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Penn State Harrisburg at 1:00 pm.
