ST. MARY’S CITY, Md. – The Frostburg State men’s and women’s tennis teams both suffered 8-1 losses at the hands of St. Mary’s, Saturday.

Teron Tyre and Zawdie Coke earned a 9-8 (7-5) win at No. 3 doubles over the Seahawks’ Robert Bishop and Chip Compton. Coke took Compton to three sets at No. 6 singles, before falling 3-6, 6-4, 10-6.

On the women’s side, junior Amber Beckman grabbed the lone point for FSU with a 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) win at No. 3 singles over Lauren Rost. Sophomore Megan Crowl lost in three sets to Emily Stumpfig at No. 2 singles, 6-3, 1-6, 6-2.

The FSU teams return to action on April 13, when they host Southern Virginia at 1:00 pm.
