Field Hockey Loses To Dickinson 5-1

CARLISLE, Pa. – Dickinson jumped out to a 4-0 cushion en route to a 5-1 win over Frostburg State in non-conference field hockey action, Wednesday afternoon.

Dickinson pushed its record to 9-2 overall behind two first-half goals and two more in the second for a 4-0 lead.

FSU (5-9) collected itself when sophomore Alexandra Darrow scored in the 63rd minute to draw to within three at 4-1. Senior Becky Randel and sophomore Ashley Johnson were credited with a double assist.

The Red Devils' Erica Marshall answered with the game's final tally at 66:24 for the 5-1 final.

Dickinson outshot Frostburg 32-15, but FSU attempted 11 shots in the second half before scoring at 62:45.

The two starting goalkeepers combined to stop 20 shots, including 11 saves from Bobcat sophomore Megan Grimm. Red Devil keeper Katy Schlechtweg posted nine saves for the win.

Frostburg returns to action this Sunday at seventh ranked Salisbury at noon.
