YORK, Pa. – York (Pa.) scored four goals in the first half on its way to a 5-0 shutout of Frostburg State in CAC field hockey action, Thursday.

The Bobcats (7-12, 0-4) were overwhelmed from the start and struggled to get their offense going. The Spartans (8-7, 1-3) outshot FSU 30-0 in the first half and continued in the second half by holding a 15-3 advantage.
Bobcat senior keeper Maggie Edwards made 18 saves in the loss, just three shy of her season-high, and her ninth contest this season with 10 or more.
Kailey Brewer scored two goals inside the first six minutes of action for YCP to set the tone for the hosts in the first half. Madi Wilt and Sandee Reich capped the opening half of play and handed York a 4-0 halftime cushion.
Jillian Brezgel scored the game’s final goal in the 57th minute to seal the 5-0 win.
Frostburg senior Alli Elliott led the team with two shots, while junior Becky Randel added one.
Frostburg State caps its regular season when it hosts No. 2 Salisbury this Sunday at Bobcat Stadium at noon.
