The loss is the fourth straight for the Bobcats as they fall to 1-5 on the season. Meanwhile, the victory is the third for the Presidents as they remain undefeated at 3-0.

The Bobcats jumped out to a 1-0 lead less than two minutes into the game as sophomore Taylor Cassatt (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) scored off a pass from freshman Megan White (Delmar, Md./Wicomico).

W&J answered with two goals of its own over the next three minutes to capture a 2-1 lead. Junior Ali Kapustin (Columbia, Md./Marriots Ridge) notched her first of four goals on the day off a free position shot to knot the game at 2-2.

However, the Presidents captured the lead for good with five-consecutive goals over the remainder of the first and the beginning of the second half for an 8-5 edge. Washington & Jefferson held a slim 6-5 lead at intermission.

The Bobcats appeared ready to retake the lead, but W&J scored back-to-back goals at 16:57 and 13:23 to increase their lead to four 11-7.

FSU had one final surge with less than 10 minutes to play in regulation. White handed out her third assist of the game as she found Brunett for a score at 8:48. Two minutes later, Kapustin scored her fourth goal of the game with 6:45 left as FSU brought the deficit to within two goals for the third time in the second half.

Over the next minute and half, the Bobcats had three solid chances to further cut into the lead, but W&J keeper Julia McLellan made three huge saves to keep the score at 11-9. With 10 seconds left, Washington & Jefferson added an insurance goal to seal the win.
