First-Half Scoring Propels York Past Frostburg

YORK, Pa. - York (Pa.) scored a pair of first-half goals en route to a 2-0 win over Frostburg State in Capital Athletic Conference field hockey action Wednesday afternoon.

The Bobcats fall to 5-13 overall and 1-5 in the CAC while the Spartans move to 9-7 overall and 3-3 in the league.

The pair of York goals came within two and a half minutes of one another. YCP's Sandee Reich scored at 10:00 for the 1-0 lead and the hosts quickly added to the total when Colleen O'Rourke scored from the top of the circle. Reich and Liz Maue were credited with assists.

York finished with 33 shots to the Bobcats four. The Spartans also held a 16-4 edge in penalty corners.

Bobcat keeper Maggie Edwards came up big for FSU with 18 saves, including 11 in the first half. Junior Rachel Merritt and sophomore Becky Randel paced the Bobcats with two shots each.

The Bobcats hit the road for their final CAC game of the year this Saturday when travel to No. 1 ranked Salisbury at 2:00 pm.
