FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State field hockey team completed its match with No. 14 Christopher Newport on Tuesday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium, with the Captains winning, 10-0.
At the time of suspension on Sept. 30, Christopher Newport led, 7-0. The NCAA and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association ruled on Oct. 3 that the game will not be considered official unless the full 70 minutes of regulation are played.
Christopher Newport picked up where it left off with Taylor Young scoring on a cross from Lauren Cherry at 41:27. Lauren Cheatham and Kelsey Clark added goals 2:16 apart later in the second half.
Goalkeeper Kellen Murphy played the remainder of the contest, making a pair of saves.
The game was suspended in Newport News, Va., due to inclement weather midway through the second half on Sept. 30.
