Breanne Russell (Clements, Md./Chopticon) led the Frostburg State field hockey team to a 3-1 victory over Goucher Saturday afternoon, scoring twice and helping the Bobcats to their second-straight win.

Becky Randel (Columbia, Md./Long Reach) put the Bobcats (2-3) on the board early in the first half driving the ball to the back of the cage on a pass from senior
Lindsey Frost (Columbia, Md./Hammond) from the top of the circle. Russell netted her first goal of the game at the 25:24 mark with a drive down the sidleline. She manuvered in front of the cage to score from the top of the circle and give FSU the 2-0 lead going into halftime.
Goucher (1-2) answered less than 10 minutes into the second half when Angela Buxton scored from Catherine Armao and brought the Gophers to within one, 2-1.
Russell sealed the game for the Bobcats with less that seven minutes left to play. She took a long pass from sophomore
Rachel Merritt (Pasadena, Md./Chesapeake) and found the back of the goal which gave FSU the 3-1 victory.

Brooke Tapman (Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke) each had four shots on the game. Goucher's Buxton lead in shots on the game with five.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Maggie Edwards (Lebanon, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) made eight stops in the cage for the win, while Micki Manheimer had four saves in the loss for GC.
Russell and Frost are now tied on the season for the team with four goals each.
Frostburg State returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 14 when it hosts Washington & Lee at 6:00 pm at Bobcat Stadium.
