FROSTBURG, Md. – The Frostburg State women's lacrosse team used a 3-0 scoring run to open the second half and pull away from Allegheny College for a 14-12 win, Tuesday evening.

In the first four minutes of the game, AC (0-1) posted an early 3-0 scoring run over FSU (2-1) to take the lead 3-0. The Bobcats then used a 3-1 scoring spurt to bring the game within one-point with just under 15 minutes left in the half, 4-3. The teams traded points for the remainder of the game until Frostburg State netted two goals in the last two and a half minutes of the half to tie the game at 7-7 going into the break.
FSU took its first lead of the game when it scored three-straight goals in the beginning of the first half to take a three-point lead over the Gators, 10-7, aided by two goals from sophomore
Ali Kapustin (Columbia, Md./Marriots Ridge). AC rallied back to within two points of the Bobcats with goals at the 15:46 mark and the 14:50 mark to make the score 10-9.

Elisabeth Hildebrand (Frederick, Md./Walkersville) off an assist from sophomore
Rachel Frank (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) and another goal from Kapustin put the Bobcats up by three points, 12-9, with less than eight minutes in regulation.
The Gators attempted one last rally with just over ten minutes left in play when Kiah Voyer-Colbath netted her second goal of the game off an assist from Jesen Paterson to bring the score within two, 13-11, and less than one minute later Paterson scored her fifth goal of the game to give the Bobcats only a one-point advantage over AC, 13-12.
At the 4:03 mark, senior
Ali Zinnel (Chestertown, Md./Kent County) recorded the last goal of the game off an assist from sophomore
Joanna McIntire (Damascus, Md./Damascus) to give the end score 14-12.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Tori Butts (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) stopped eight shots in the win while AC's goalie recorded ten saves in the loss.
Hildebrand netted a season-high four goals for the Bobcats and Kapustin chipped in three while McIntire had two goals and two assists. Frank also had two assists in the win for FSU.
Junior
Jessica Beaty (Pasadena, Md./Northeast) recorded a game-high six caused turnovers while senior
Davia Procida (Columbia, Md./Wilde Lake) posted three.
Leading the scorers for the Gators was Paterson with a game-high five goals while Meg Grossman, Christina Zanic and Voger-Colbath posted two.
Frostburg State returns to the field when it travels to Wesley in Dover, Del. on March 13 for a 1:00 pm matchup.
