Women's Lacrosse Drops Game Against Bridgewater, 12-6

BRIDGEWATER, Va.. – Erin Cartwright and Noelle Najjar scored three goals for Bridgewater as the Frostburg State women's lacrosse team dropped its game against BC, 12-6, Friday afternoon.

The Eagles (6-5) jumped to an early 7-0 lead over FSU (4-4) with just over 12 minutes left in the half after scoring seven-consecutive goals, aided by two goals from Cartwright and Caitlin Costello.

At 10:59, sophomore Rachel Frank (Huntingtown, Md./Huntingtown) netted an unassisted goal, 7-1, which was followed by goals from Bridgewater's Leslie Crawford (10:07) and Najjar (8:26) to put BC up by eight goals over the Bobcats, 9-1.

With just over four minutes left until the break, sophomore Joanna McIntire (Damascus, Md./Damascus) netted a goal, 9-2, and less than 30 seconds later freshman Taylor Cassatt (Eldersburg, Md./Liberty) scored an unassisted goal to end scoring in the first half, 9-3.

At 23:25, Najjar netted her third goal of the game off an assist from Megan Bach, 10-3. The Bobcats answered back with two-straight goals one from freshman Chelsea Feeney (Damascus, Md./Damascus) and the other from Cassatt, 10-5, however the Eagles then rallied with two consecutive goals to give them a seven-point advantage with just over 13 minutes left in regulation, 12-5.

Junior Megan Dent-Carman (LaVale, Md./Mercersburg Academy) netted her sixth goal of the season to give the end score, 12-6, with 12:58 remaining in the second half.

Cassatt led Frostburg State with two goals and McIntire, Feeney, Dent-Carmen all had one goal each while Cartwright and Najjar led the Eagles in scoring, chipping in three goals each.

In goal for the Bobcats was sophomore Tori Butts (Baltimore, Md./Perry Hall) with eight saves while Colleen Schwind picked up the win for BC, stopping 18 shots.

FSU is back on the field at home in Bobcat Stadium against Greensboro on March 28 at 1:00 pm.
