ST. Mary's City, Md. - St. Mary's (Md.) used two quick first half goals to lift the Seahawks over the Frostburg State field hockey team, 4-1, Saturday afternoon at Seahawk Stadium.
The Bobcats (3-14, 1-5) were outshot by St. Mary's 26-3 though sophomore goalkeeper
Maggie Edwards (Lebanon, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) held the advantage in saves over the Seahawks' 13-2.
Lauriann Parker got SMC (10-3, 5-1) on the board at 14:03 and Brooke Masimore scored the eventual game-winning goal less than a minute later with a loose ball on the goalline that she was able to slip past Edwards.
The Bobcat defense held of the scoring for most of the second half until the Seahawks took a 3-0 advantage on Susan Smith's shot in the far corner of the cage at 58:46. Parker scored SMC's fourth and final goal at 60:17 to put the host team up 4-0.

Breanne Russell (Clements, Md./Chopticon) netted the Bobcats only goal with less that seven minutes left to play with a shot from the top of the circle to cut the Seahawk lead to 4-1.

Linzy Martin (King George, Va./Chopticon) joined Russell as the only Bobcats to get a shot off in the contest.
Frostburg State returns to action next Saturday as it takes on Capital Athletic Conference opponent Salisbury on Senior Day at 11:00 am at Bobcat Stadium.
