FROSTBURG, Md. – Jennifer Marabella scored two goals for Washington & Jefferson as it overpowered Frostburg State 4-1 in field hockey, on a rainy Wednesday evening.

The loss snaps the Bobcats (6-3) four-game winning streak and gives the Presidents (3-1) their second-consecutive victory.
The first half saw a fury of action as the two teams combined for 16 shots in the opening period. Washington & Jefferson got on the board on the final shot of the half when Julianne Zackey scored with just 13 seconds left.
W&J led 1-0 at halftime, which was delayed an extra 30 minutes due to lightning and rain.
Marabella scored the first of her two goals just over three minutes into the second half as the visitors extended their lead to 2-0.

Brooke Tapman (Pocomoke, Md./Pocomoke) put FSU on the board in the 48th minute off a pass from sophomore
Brandi Mixell (Fort Littleton, Pa./Forbes Road), however, W&J added two more goals over a four-minute stretch just past the midway point.
Mackenzie Schweiterman scored off an Erin Barno assist at 55:38 and Zackey found Marabello for the contest's final tally at 59:00.
The Bobcats were outshot 20-12, including 10-6 in each half, but led in penalty corners 16-6.

Maggie Edwards (Lebanon, N.J./Hunterdon Central Regional) allowed four goals and stopped nine shots in the loss.
Frostburg State hosts York on Saturday, Sept. 26 at 1:00 pm.
