ERIE, Pa. - The Frostburg State women's tennis team picked up two wins at the Penn State Invitational, defeating both Chatham, 4-1, and Geneva, 3-2, but falling to Alfred, 2-3, Saturday.

Frostburg State has an overall record of 5-2 and remains undefeated in Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play (2-0).

Against Chatham, seniors Monie Cuddahee (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) and Caroline Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown) picked up the doubles victory against Katie Lucas and Ashley Carter with a score of 8-1.

In the number one singles match, freshman Elly Dannenfelser (Joppa, Md./John Carroll) defeated Chatham's Barb Potty (8-6) and junior Vicky Stafford (Lee, N.H./Oyster River) won against Alexa Coughenour (8-3). Freshman Megan Martin (Richmond, Va./Mills Goodwin) picked up the final win for the Bobcats against Alisa Boslett with a score of 8-1.

Cuddahee and sophomore Jannill Sites (Waynesboro, Pa./James Buchanan) defeated Alfred's Kate Coler and Shanen Torey in the doubles competition and Dannenfelser picked up the only other FSU win against Griffin Currie (8-4) in the number one singles match.

In Frostburg State's final match against Geneva, Cuddahee and senior Liz Coblentz (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) won against Amy Weller and Ashlyn Mallson in the doubles competition with a score of 8-2.

In the number one singles competition, Dannenfelser defeated Chelsea Caver (8-2) while Martin picked up the win against Bethany Ragonesi (8-1) in the fourth singles match.
