ERIE, Pa. - Senior
Greg Shedd (Middletown, Md./Middletown) and freshman
Mike Stevenson (Bowie, Md./Bowie) each picked up three wins on the day as the Frostburg State men's tennis team defeated Alfred, 5-4, and fell to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent, Penn State Behrend, 8-1, on Saturday.
Frostburg State has an 1-4 overall record and is 0-1 in the AMCC competition.
Against Alfred, Stevenson captured the win in the first singles competition as he defeated Connor Houghton with scores of 6-2, 6-3.
Shedd defeated Nathan Kucko in the second singles match (6-2, 6-0) while senior
Jeff Lesky (Elmira, N.Y./Elmira) picked up the win against Nick Middaugh in the No. 4 singles competition (6-4, 7-5).
Sophomore
Phillip Darden (Washington, D.C./Thomas Stone) rounded out the singles victory with a win over Kyle McDevitt with scores of 6-2, 7-5.
Shedd and Stevenson picked up their second win of the day as they defeated Houghton and Kucko in the first doubles match with a score of 8-5.

The Bobcats only win against Penn State Behrend was in the first doubles competition when Shedd and Stevenson defeated Elliot Blackstone and Jon Henderson with a 9-8 score.
