GIBSONIA, Pa. - Frostburg State senior
Sarah Eisel (Frostburg, Md./Beall) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week of October 13.
Eisel captured a second-place finish in the first flight of the singles competition at the Goucher Invitational last weekend. Eisel defeated Gwynedd-Mercy's Erin Fallon (6-3, 6-3) in the first round and Goucher's Tanya Cooley (6-4, 7-6 (8-6)) in the semi-finals. She advanced to the finals where she was defeated by Jami Fein from Moravian (6-0, 6-1).
Eisel also picked up two victories last week from AMCC opponent La Roche College. She captured first place in the number one singles match against Christina Shields (4-6, 6-4, 7-6 (3)) and in the number one doubles match against Christina Shields/Chiara Irakoze (8-3).
Versus Waynesburg, Eisel picked up her third victory of the week in the number two doubles match against Laura Garcia/Jessica Kody with a score of 8-3.
The Bobcats return to the court October 13 at AMCC opponent La Roche for a 3:00 pm match up.
