GLENVILLE, W. Va. – The Frostburg State Acrobatics & Tumbling team split their Wednesday tri-meet, defeating Wheeling 237.540-121.325 and falling to Glenville's 240.315.
FSU began the meet with the highest score in the Compulsory Event at 33.65, with GSU next closest at 31.65. The Bobcats also had the highest heat score with a 9.35 in the toss. The Pioneers then went on to take the next three events, winning Acro 27.7-23.9, Pyramid 27.55-26.9, and Toss 26.8-25.85. Frostburg scored at least a 9 in each event, with a 9.25 in the 7-element acro, a 9.5 in the open pyramid, a 9.1 in the inversion pyramid, and a 9 in the open toss.
In the Tumbling event, FSU inched closer by winning 46.55-45.675, taking four of the six heats. Each of the Bobcats' three individual passes came within 0.8 points of their start value, with an 8.3/8.6 in the aerial, an 8.375/8.6 in the 6-element, and an 8.925/9.75 in the open. As the meet came down to the team event, the Pioneers were able to hold on to their nearly three-point lead, eking out an 80.94-80.69 for the 240.315-237.54 final.
With the result, Frostburg moves to 3-1 on the year and will next host No. 10 Limestone on Thursday, March 6 in Bobcat Arena. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
