INSTITUTE, W. Va. – The Frostburg State Acrobatics & Tumbling team defeated West Virginia State in their regular season finale by a final score of 267.670-164.715.

WVSU was able to celebrate the meet by honoring its senior class as a first-year program, competing in the MEC for its inaugural season.

FSU was dominant in the first two events, winning the Compulsory 38-19.55 and the Acro 28.95-18.95. During the first event, the Bobcats scored high marks in both the pyramid (9.95) and toss (9.75) heats, while the second featured no score below a 9.55 and featured a 9.8 in the 7-Element.

Frostburg then took the Pyramid event 29.50-24.55 to end the first half of the meet, as all three heats scored a 9.80 or above. The Bobcats came out on top 27.75-23.30 in the Toss, with the open toss performing highest at 9.70 out of a possible 9.90, the same margin as the 450 Salto, which was a 9.20 out of 9.40.

The Tumbling event was separated by almost 20 points, as FSU won 54.650-35.575. Seniors Sydney Green (9.775) and Abbie Baker (9.85) were the top Bobcat performers in both the Aerial and Open passes, respectively. In the team event, Frostburg came out on top 88.82-42.79 to take the final score up to 267.670-164.715.

With the win, FSU improves to 5-2, while the Yellow Jackets end their season at 1-7. Frostburg received the No. 2 seed in the Mountain East tournament, as they will face third-seeded Glenville State on Friday, April 12 in Fairmont, WV. Information and updates will be posted to frostburgsports.com.
