Women's Swimming Drops Tri-Meet to Retrievers, Sea Gulls

BALTIMORE, Md. – The Frostburg State Women's Swimming team fell in their tri-meet on Saturday afternoon, losing to UMBC 162-43 and Salisbury 145-60.

The team of sophomore Gabriela Betancourt, senior Maree Dieterich, junior Kendall Hooper, and freshman Gabriella Douglas knotted the highest finish in the day for Frostburg, posting a 1:54.50 time in the 200-yard medley relay for a second place finish.

Hooper finished fourth in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:00.95, while Douglas (26.02) and senior Liz Perry (26.07) took fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 50-yard freestyle. Three other top-five finishes on the day for the Bobcats were junior Lydia Nebiolo (11:13.44) in the 100-yard freestyle, freshman Rachel Rickabaugh (2:03.48) in the 200-yard freestyle, and junior Natasha Paciello (1:12.59) in the 100-yard breaststroke.

To finish out the meet, the team of junior Amaya Burke, freshman Jayme Meadows, Dieterich, and Perry finished fourth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a 1:45.72 time, while coming in right behind them in fifth place was the team of Rickabaugh, junior Pinky Council, Betancourt, and Paciello with a 1:48.33 time.

With the losses, FSU moves to 7-4 on the season as they will face Mary Washington in their regular season finale on Saturday, January 27 at 1 PM in Fredericksburg, VA. For more information and updates, please visit frostburgsports.com.
