SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio- The Frostburg State Acrobatics and Tumbling team traveled to take on Notre Dame College, where the Bobcats got their first conference win with a score of 261.585-169.345.
FSU earned high marks in most of the compulsory heats, with the top score coming in the pyramid heat on a 9.85 out of 10 on their way to a total of 37.2 versus the Falcons' 25.65. The Bobcats maintained their advantage through the acro event, outscoring Notre Dame in every heat, including posting a 9.55 in the seven element, for a 26.45-15.75 advantage.Â
Frostburg again performed well in the pyramid event, with each heat scoring at least a 9.4 on the way to a 28.75-22.8 total over the Falcons to hold a 92.4-64.2 lead at halftime. Opening the second half in the toss event, both teams recorded their best scoring margin, as FSU earned 27.55 out of a possible 28.7 points, to which NDC had 24.4 points out of 26.8. The Bobcats pushed their advantage in the tumbling event, with the top heat coming in the open pass, scoring a 9.75, on the way to a 54.075-42.925 event victory. Â
In the team event, Frostburg polished off the win with an 87.56 to Notre Dame's 37.82, putting the final score at 261.585-169.345, with FSU outscoring the Falcons 169.185-105.145 in the second half.Â
