BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - Junior Sydney Theobald and freshman Ashlynn Routzahn were honored as the MEC Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, as announced by the league office. Both awards are presented by The Health Plan each week. 

Routzahn announced herself in her first collegiate games, as all four of her hits went for extra base hits, with two doubles and a pair of home runs. Over the four-game series she totaled nine RBI and scored four runs with 12 total bases, helping the team to a 3-1 record. 

Theobald got the team's first start of the year and worked her way to a complete-game victory over Barton, tossing four strikeouts across the seven innings. She also threw two innings in relief during the second game against the Bulldogs, not giving up a run with just one hit and one walk allowed.
