Acrobatics and Tumbling Scores Season High in Win Over Senators

ELKINS, W. Va. – The Frostburg State acrobatics & tumbling team defeated Davis & Elkins on the road Saturday afternoon, with the final score of the meet 258.990 – 232.165.
 
The Bobcats started strong in the compulsory event, scoring a 9.8 and 9.55 in the pyramid and toss heats, respectively. The overall score at the end of the first event was 36.25 – 30.05 FSU.
 
On a solid day for Frostburg, the acro event might have been the high point, as out of a possible 30 points, FSU brought home 29.25, including scoring a 9.9 out of 10 in the second heat. The pyramid event has also been a strong point for the Bobcats all season, as Frostburg scored 29 out of 30 total points and came in above the Senators' score of 28.25. At the end of the first half, the Bobcats were out in front by 12.4 points, with an overall score of 94.5 – 82.1.
 
The second half started with the toss event and Frostburg maintained momentum, taking the event 26.4 – 23.85. FSU scored an event high of 9.65 in the open heat. The tumbling event stretched the Bobcat lead out by another six points, as the best pass of the day was the six element that scored a 9.7 out of 9.8.
 
The team event wrapped things up for the day, with Frostburg scoring an 86.29 out of a possible 101.24. The Senators scored 80.34 out of a possible 98.84, as the meet total ended with the Bobcats out in front by 26.825 points, defeating D&E 258.99 – 232.165, a new season high for FSU.
 
With the win, Frostburg moves to 4-3 on the season, while Davis & Elkins falls to 2-4. The Bobcats will return home to Bobcat Arena for senior day on Saturday, March 26 against West Virginia Wesleyan with start time at 1 PM. For more information please visit frostburgsports.com.
