BEL AIR, Md. - The Frostburg State Men's Tennis team defeated Harford Community College on Tuesday afternoon by a score of 4-3, earning their first win of the Spring season.
The Bobcats dropped a point to Harford in doubles, but took one out of the three matches, as junior Caleb Beidle and sophomore Del Carden won their second doubles match in as many days, winning by a score of 6-4. In the singles matches, FSU took four of the six matches, as Carden picked up a singles win along with his doubles partner Beidle. Freshman Matt Bolen also added to the Bobcats points with a two-set win. With the score tied at 3-3 and only one match still in progress, sophomore Origen Grear came up big for the Bobcats, coming back from a set down to win the second set 6-4 and then the third 7-5 to earn the victory for Frostburg.
With the win, the Bobcats now sit at 1-2 in the Spring season. FSU returns to action Saturday, March 19 for a road match against Bloomsburg. For information and updates stay tuned at
