Women's Lacrosse Defeated by #2 Indianapolis

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.- The Frostburg State women's lacrosse team took on No. 2 Indianapolis on the final day of the 2022 Midwest Mini Tournament in a 21-2 loss.

In the first quarter, the Greyhounds got the ball rolling with a goal, but the Bobcats would answer right back with a goal from sophomore Anna Kearney after a great pass from junior Cammie Schniedwind. The Greyhounds would then score five unanswered to bring the end of the first quarter with UIndy up 6-1.

In the second quarter, a Frostburg turnover allowed the Greyhounds to score first, as they used draw control wins to score another five straight to go into halftime up 12-1.

The third quarter followed the tide of the second quarter, with UIndy continuing to keep FSU at bay on offense and score another five goals to go up 17-1 at the end of the third.

In the fourth quarter, the Greyhounds started off strong with an early goal. Kearney would get a good look and score her second goal of the day as the lone goalscorer for FSU. Shay made some great saves in the final quarter, but UIndy would take the victory 21-2.

With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 0-2 while Indianapolis rises to 2-0 on the season. Frostburg will be on the road for their next contest as they take on Wilmington (Del.) on Saturday, February 26 at 12 PM. For more information and updates, visit www.frostburgsports.com.
