GAME NOTES 

-LAST TIME OUT FOR FROSTBURG STATE  
   -Frostburg State finished up their 2022 season at home last week vs Alderson Broaddus on Senior Day. Frostburg State jumped quickly on the Battlers putting up 10 points in the first quarter, via a 31 yard field goal from junior K/P Dayne Koontz and a three yard touchdown rush from senior RB Josh Maxwell. The second quarter would see the FSU offense contiune to cruise with a pass to redshirt freshman WR Jordan Marcucci from ten yards out. Following this, sophomore QB Kisaye Barnes would come into the game and take off for a 20 yard touchdown rush, putting FSU up 24-0. AB would get their lone points of the afternoon on a 48 yard pick six, but after this it was all FSU. Four more touchdown passes and a rush to close out the game as FSU would roll to a 58-7 victory over the Battlers. Sophomore QB Graham Walker racked up 271 yards through the air and four touchdowns passes including a 69 yard long toss for a score. 
   
-SCOUTING THE WVWC BOBCATS 
   -West Virginia Wesleyan is coming off a home game last week against Charleston (WV). WVWC struggled all game long to get their offense in gear, registering only 168 total yards of offense against the Golden Eagles. Charleston (WV) would rattle off 44 unanswered points to shut out WVWC on the road. The loss comes after the week prior where WVWC found their first win of the season on the road at Alderson Broaddus by a score of 31-30. 
  
-WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN HEAD COACH 
   -Dwayne Martin returned to take over the WVWC football program in 2021, returning to coach his alma mater where he graduated from in 1996. Martin spent 10 seasons previously with Clarion University, where he was Defensive Coordinator from 2006-12 & 15 and Special Teams Coordinator from 2013-14.  Prior to that stint, he would coach linebackers at Slippery Rock University. He began coaching in in 1996 at WVU Tech. 

-RELIABLE HANDS 
       - Redshirt freshman Jordan Marcucci currently ranks eleventh in the country in TD receptions with 9, that same mark sits him in third in the MEC in the same category. Marcucci also ranks eighth in the MEC in scoring, racking up 54 points so far this season.  

-RUSHING ATTACK  
      - The RB tandem of senior Josh Maxwell and redshirt freshman Sean Aaron of remains within the top twelve of the MEC in rushing. Maxwell ranks ninth with a stat line of (115 car, 536 yards, 4.7 avg, 75.3 apg) and Aaron sits at eleventh with a line of (128 car, 672 yards, 5.3 avg, 74.7 apg).

-SPECIAL TEAMS SPECTACULAR  
   - Junior K Dayne Koontz currently ranks first in the country in field goals per game. He also ranks first in the conference in field goals, (17-24, 70.8 PCT and 51 Long) as well as fifth in the conference in scoring (74 points). 

-NO FLY ZONE
   - Redshirt Freshman S Wylan Harich ranks 22nd in the country in interceptions (0.4 per game), Harich also sits second in the MEC with his four on the season.
