BRIDGEPORT, W. Va. - Senior defensive end Luke Freeman was named the MEC Football Defensive Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, as announced by the league office. 

In his final game at FSU, he made seven tackles in a 28-23 win over West Liberty. Freeman added 1.5 sacks, including one where he forced a fumble and recovered it in the endzone for a touchdown. He ends his career in the top-10 in program history for career sacks with 21, while also tying the career record in forced fumbles with former teammate Carl Igweh, as both had eight.
