Frostburg State special teams would get the ball back to start the second half after a successful onside kick attempt, and another 41 yard field goal from Koontz in the third would make it 16-7. The Bobcat defense would lock in and come up with two takeaways and continue to stall out the Fighting Falcon offense, but after a late touchdown pass, Fairmont State would only trail 16-14. The Fighting Flacons would drive to the Bobcat 31 with under a minute remaining, looking ot kick a game winning field goal. However, pressure from the Bobcat defense would push Fairmont State out of field goal range and force a turnover on downs to secure the 16-14 victory.Â
