GAME NOTESÂ
-LAST TIME OUT FOR FROSTBURG STATEÂ Â
-Frostburg State hit the road to visit the Wheeling Cardinals for the first time since 2019 last weekend, and on a very windy afternoon, the Cardinals would pickup their first ever win over the Bobcats. Two explosive first scoring drives kicked off the afternoon as Wheeling scored in 1:45 on four plays and the Bobcats quickly countered scoring in 0:14 with two plays. After 28 combined points in the first quarter, the Bobcats would hold a 24-14 lead with around 3:30 remaining before halftime. After the Cardinals would toss for a 48 yard touchdown to trail 24-21, they would send the ball back to the Bobcats. After going three and out, Frostburg would setup to punt away, but WU would block the punt and claim the ball at the Bobcat three yard line, where they would promptly score to take a 28-24 lead into halftime. After both teams traded field goals in the third, the Bobcats would begin a drive with around six minutes left in fourth.  Moving from the Bobcat 24 yard line to the Cardinal 28 yard line, setting up for a chance to take the lead with only 1:38 left. However, Frostburg would throw an interception, which would cost them the contest as the Cardinals held on to win 31-27.Â
