FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg State lost to Alderson Broaddus on Wednesday afternoon in a close game 66-62. Senior Morgan Dombroski led the Bobcats with 20 points, followed by junior Ciara Thomas with 18 points.

The first bucket of the game for Frostburg was scored by Thomas on a layup. The Bobcats went back-and-forth with the Battlers through the first quarter with score ending at 18-15 in favor of AB. Midway through the second quarter, the Bobcats tied the game on a bucket from sophomore Samiya Esema making the score 24-24. FSU took their biggest lead of the half when junior Maggie Sharp hit a three to go up 30-26.

The Bobcats recaptured the lead in the second half on a layup from Thomas to make the score 35-33. From that point on the Battlers ran out to a nine-point lead until Frostburg started to chip away and pull it back to a four point game. FSU started the fourth with a bucket from Esema and cut the lead down to two points. AB pushed the lead to eight until back-to-back buckets from Thomas and Dombroski got Frostburg close once more. With 1:20 left in the game, Dombroski made a basket to get the Bobcats only down two with the score at 63-61. FSU wasn't able to close out, as the Battlers came out winners 66-62.

The loss moves the Bobcats to 2-10 on the season, while the Battlers improve to 6-5. Frostburg returns to action on Monday, January 10 as they make up their previously postponed game on the road against Notre Dame (Ohio) with a 6 PM start time. For more information and updates visitÂ
