PRIOR TO KICKOFFÂ Â Â Â Â
The Frostburg State Bobcats will travel to Concord University to play the Mountain Lions this Saturday afternoon in the fourth game of the 2021 season at 1:00 p.m.
Frostburg enters the matchup vs CU this week after a 30-24 victory over the Charleston (WV) Golden Eagles in week 3 on Thursday night.This season marks the first time the Bobcats have gone 3-0 to open the season since 2018, with wins over Stevenson 34-7, TCNJ 47-7 and Rowan 34-7 and the first undefeated season start in the DII era.
Concord enters the matchup after winning their home opener contest against West Virginia Wesleyan, 28-25.
LAST TIME OUT ON EACH SIDEÂ Â Â Â
Frostburg State captured a 30-24 victory on September 16th over Charleston (WV) in conference play. The Bobcats would would trail 7-3 at the half in a defensive heavy beginning to the contest. Later into the second half, Frostburg would take the lead 17-14 with
senior Christian Thornton's second TD of the evening and all looked great. UC would get the ball back with 23 second left in the contest and manufactured a game tying drive capped off by a 53 yard field goal locking the game up at 17-17.
Heading into overtime, FSU would score first with a TD and UC would also convert a TD as well, pushing the game into double OT. The Bobcat defense held the Golden Eagles to a field goal attempt which would be blocked by
senior Carl Igweh, setting up a winning opportunity for FSU.
Senior Gavin Lavat would make good on the opportunity rushing in from three yards out to claim the victory in double OT.
Concord claimed victory on September 18th with a gritty victory over West Virginia Wesleyan at home 28-25. The Mountain Lions would build a 14-0 lead in the first quarter, however WVW would storm back to within two points in the 2nd.
WVW would once again close the gap in the fourth, rallying back from a 28-12 deficit to make the scoreline 28-25. The Bobcats had an opportunity to tie the contest with a 21 yard field goal with 1:40 left to play, but came up with a miss giving Concord the ball back to win.

The Bobcats feature one player in the top five of the Mountain East Conference after three weeks in rushing yards.
Senior Gavin Lavat checks in at number four on the list with 238 yards total and 79.3 yards avg/g.
