PHILIPPI, W. Va. – The Frostburg State women's lacrosse team dominated in their road game against the Alderson Broaddus Battlers Wednesday evening with a final score of 21-11. The Bobcats were led by sophomore Cammie Schniedwind with seven goals.

The win moves Frostburg to 7-3 on the season while the Battlers fall to 2-6.

First-year Anna Kearney got the scoring going for the Bobcats with a goal 15 seconds into the game. The Battlers answered with a goal to tie the game at 1-1. Kearney scored back-to-back goals off assists from sophomore Lilly Stephens and senior Lindsay Kohlmann to take a 3-1 lead. Alderson Broaddus scored three straight goals to take a 4-3 lead before Kearney netted her fourth straight goal of the game to tie it at 4-4.

Junior Shelby Brunett took the lead for the Bobcats with a goal assisted by senior Stephanie King. The hosts then scored three more goals to take the lead at 7-5. Frostburg scored four goals in the last three minutes of the first half to take a 9-7 lead into halftime. First-year Grace Bagosy netted a goal, along with Schniedwind and two from King.

Schniedwind opened the half scoring a man-up goal ten seconds in increasing the Bobcat lead to 10-7. The Battlers went on to score before Frostburg added another goal from Schniedwind to keep a three-point lead at 11-8. Alderson Broaddus scored to cut the deficit to two at 11-9. Schniedwind added another goal off an assist from senior Summer Cavey before Cavey picked up a goal of her own to keep the lead at 13-9.

Kohlmann scored on a free position goal before Kearney scored her fifth goal of the day off, an assist from Bagosy, to keep Frostburg on top at 15-9. Cavey netted another goal before Schniedwind scored again for the Bobcats to increase their lead to 17-9. King scored off an assist from senior Maggie Roszko to put the Bobcats up 18-9. The Battlers scored to cut the deficit to 18-10 before Schniedwind scored off an assist from Kearney to make it 19-10. Schniedwind went on to score her final goal of the game before King added the final goal for Frostburg to earn the 21-11 victory.
