FROSTBURG, MD. – The Frostburg State acrobatics & tumbling team took to the mat inside Bobcat Arena for the very first time in program history on Saturday night. The team was founded prior to the 2019-2020 athletics season. They would end up losing to the visiting Gannon Golden Knights by a total score of 247.665-148.550.
In the first of six events on the night, Frostburg put a score of 7.000 in the Acro heat of the Compulsory event. The Bobcats' best score in the event came in the Toss heat, notching a score of 9.550 from the judges.
All three heats in the Acro event saw the Bobcats score above an eight. FSU received a score of 8.750 in the 5-Element, an 8.300 in the 6-Element, and an 8.550 in the 7-Element. Frostburg also received an 8.550 score in the Open Pyramid.
Frostburg notched their highest score in the Toss in the first heat, which was the 450 Salto Toss, earning a score of 8.850 to open the fourth event of the night.
In the Tumbling event, first-year Alexis Palmieri put up a score of 8.775 in the Aerial Pass heat. Fellow first-year Navah Marierose followed that up two heats later with a score of 8.750 in the Open Pass heat.
