Bobcat Women Fall on the Road in Ohio

SOUTH EUCLID, Ohio. – The Frostburg State women's basketball team fall on the road after a hard-fought battle against the Notre Dame Falcons. The Bobcats were led by junior Morgan Dombroski with 11 points, six assists and four steals on the night. This puts FSU at 2-12 on the season while Notre Dame (Oh.) moves to 12-3.
 
The Bobcats started the game out strong with a good layup from sophomore Ciara Thomas, but the Falcons were quick to answer by going on a six-point scoring run. FSU wasn't going away without a fight, another good layup by Thomas tied the score 6-6 at the 5:56 mark. A good layup by sophomore Ariana Briggs-Hall gave Frostburg the push they needed to take the lead to go into the second quarter 18-16.
 
A quick layup from Notre Dame 11 seconds into the second quarter tied the score of the game. A back and forth scoring battle continued throughout the rest of the first half. A jumper from first year Rhiana Hall brought the Bobcats within two of the Falcons at the 3:30 mark with a score of 26-28. With nine seconds left in the half, Briggs-Hall landed a good layup tying the score at 32-32 to go into the second half.
 
Briggs-Hall opened the scoring for the Bobcats in the third quarter with a good layup at 8:51. A good jumper from first year Kyrsten Joseph and a layup from junior Drew Dunathan gave Frostburg a three-point lead at 6:39 with a score of 40-37. The Bobcats were trailing behind by seven points at the 1:37 mark. A jumper from Dombroski and a three-pointer from first year Brenae Ford brought the Bobcats within two to go to the final quarter of play.
 
The Bobcats struggled to score during the final quarter with Thomas getting the first points with a good jumper at the 6:02 mark making the score 63-52 in favor of the Falcons. Three good free throws from the line from Dombroski brought the score to 68-55 with 1:22 left in the game. Notre Dame added three more points to end the game with a score of 71-55.
 
Ford finished the night with 11 points and one assist while Thomas added 11 points, five rebounds, and one steal for the Bobcats.
