Frostburg Women Fall at Home Against Alderson Broaddus

FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg State women's basketball fall short at home against the Alderson Broaddus Battlers with a final score of 78-42. The Bobcats were led by first year Rhiana Hall with 11 points and one steal. This drops the Bobcats to 2-11 and moves the Battlers to 5-9 on the season.
 
Sophomore Arianna Briggs-Hall got the first points for the Bobcats at the 8:43 mark. FSU struggled to hold off Alderson Broaddus by giving up five points by the 7:54 mark. Frostburg answered quickly with junior Drew Dunathan landing a good layup making the score 8-4. It wasn't enough to hold the Battlers off, giving up the next 11 points. Hall landed the last points for the quarter at the 1:17 mark ending the score at 19-10.
 
The Bobcats struggled to score until first year Kyrsten Joseph landed one of two free throws at the 7:37 mark. Sophomore Ciara Thomas landed a good layup with four minutes to go in the quarter, making the score 32-17. Both teams struggled to score the remainder of the quarter with the last points dropped at the 3:09 with a score of 36-17 in favor of the Battlers.
 
Thomas opened the scoring in the second half for FSU with a good layup less than a minute in. A free throw from Briggs-Hall at the 3:10 mark ended the scoring for the Bobcats in the third quarter, allowing the Battlers to go on a four-point scoring run ending the third with a score of 56-29.
 
Frostburg struggled to score during the final quarter of play, with junior Morgan Dombroski getting the first points at the 4:48 mark with a good jumper. A jumper from Hall followed by two good free throws later in the quarter bringing the score to 78-41. Dombroski ended the scoring for both teams after landing a good free throw with 10 seconds left in the game.
 
Arianna Briggs-Hall ended the night with eight points, six rebounds, and one steal while Ciara Thomas ended the night with eight points and six rebounds.
