FROSTUBRG, Md. – The Frostburg State men's basketball team fell at home Saturday evening to the West Liberty Hilltoppers with a final score 128-75. Junior Agyei Edwards led the men with 16 points, five rebounds, and one assist.

The Bobcats fall to 3-9 on the season while the Hilltoppers advance to 10-3.

After a fast start by West Liberty the Bobcats were able to take the lead 10-9 with 7-0 scoring run which featured a layup from junior Jamil Jones and a three-pointer from Edwards five minutes into the game. Another three-pointer from Edwards, along with a dunk from graduate Canaan Bartley and a layup from senior Sean Patterson, powered an 8-3 scoring run to put FSU on top 18-16.

Senior Desmond Rene registered two successful free throws at the 11:08 mark to bring the Bobcats within two of the Hilltoppers 22-20. The Hilltoppers took control at the end of the first half, taking a 64-38 lead into halftime.

Bartley scored the first points of the second half with a layup bringing the Bobcats within 26 points of West Liberty 66-40. With a dominating performance in the second half for the Hilltoppers, FSU struggled to get any momentum. Sophomore Jaylon Johnson scored the final points of the night with a layup to make the final score 128-75 in favor of the Hilltoppers.

Bartley finished the night with 12 points and six rebounds, while Johnson recorded 10 points with three rebounds and two assists for the Bobcats.
