WHEELING, W. Va. – Frostburg State women's basketball team fell short on the road against the Wheeling Cardinals with a final score of 81-49. The Bobcats were led by first-year Rhiana Hall with 13 points and sophomore Arianna Briggs-Hall with 12 points and six rebounds on the night. The Bobcats fall to 2-8 and Wheeling University moves to 7-6.

The Bobcats were able to hold the Cardinals off from scoring the first two minutes of the game, with Hall getting the first points for FSU. A good jumper and a three pointer by junior Morgan Dombroski brought the Bobcats to within ten points at 17-7 with 2:45 left in the opening quarter.

FSU started the second quarter strong with a pair of good free throws by sophomore Ciara Thomas. Frostburg came within four points of Wheeling when Briggs-Hall landed a good jumper at the 5:48 mark making the score 26-22. Dombroski dropped a good free throw later in the second, but it was not enough for the Bobcats to mount a comeback ending the half with 41-25.

Frostburg started the third strong with a good jumper from Hall 12 seconds in. It was a back and forth scoring battle between the Bobcats and the Cardinals. First-year Kyrsten Joseph landed a good three pointer at the 4:09 putting FSU down 59-33. Three good free throws by Thomas brought the score to 66-38 to end the third.

FSU was not going away without a fight with Briggs-Hall landing the first points in the final quarter of play. A good jumper followed by a good free throw from Hall brought the score to 75-47 with 2:42 left in the game. Hall ended the scoring for the Bobcats with an additional two points before the Cardinals scored four more points to end the game with a score of 81-49.
