INSTITUTE, W. Va.- The Frostburg State Men's Basketball team fell on the road to West Virginia State 103-89 on Wednesday evening.

Sophomore Jaylon Johnson knocked down a pair of free throws to push the lead to 12-5 with 15 minutes on the clock. WVSU would work the score back to 14-13, but buckets from graduate Canaan Bartley and senior Sean Patterson got FSU back up 18-13.

The Yellow Jackets fought their way back, taking their first lead at 25-24 with nine minutes remaining as both teams continued to shoot the ball well. The sides traded leads and baskets, with neither team leading by more than three the rest of the half. Shooting did not cool down for either team in the second half, as the Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 60-52 lead, with Bartley providing multiple threes to keep Frostburg within touching distance at 65-60. The WVSU offense then went on a tear, making layups and knocking down three-pointers to go on a 29-9 run and push the lead to 94-69. Some late buckets by sophomore Sean Brown Jr. would be the closest Frostburg got, as the Bobcats fell by a final score of 103-89.
