SOUTH EUCLID, OHIO- The Frostburg State volleyball team went on the road to take on the Falcons of Notre Dame (Ohio) in a 3-1 loss.
In the first set, both teams traded points until the Falcons took a commanding 23-15. In an insane comeback, sophomore middle hitter McKaily Thomson-Moran and junior outside hitter Jackie Sterenberg both had pivotal blocks against the Falcons, with Sterenberg getting the final two kills to seal a first 26-24 set victory.
Sets two through four saw the Bobcats holding their own against the Falcons, but ultimately falling short 25-22, 25-20, and 25-20.
Sterenberg and sophomore outside hitter Beverly Braun had the highest team kills with 16 and 14, respectively. Thomson-Moran lead the Bobcats in both aces and blocks. Redshirt-sophomore setter Hayley Delor led the team with 42 assists and junior libero McKenna Houser tied the team in digs with 17, along with Braun.
With the loss, the Bobcats fall to 4-11 and the Falcons rise to 11-7 on the season. Frostburg will travel to take on the Hilltoppers of West Liberty in West Liberty, W. Va. on Friday, October 8 at 7 PM. For more information and updates, visit
