PRIOR TO KICKOFF
The Frostburg State Bobcats host Urbana this Saturday at Bobcat Stadium in the third home game of the season at 1:00 p.m. Saturday's matchup also represents Homecoming 2019 for Frostburg.

Saturday's matchup will be the fifth Mountain East Conference game for both schools and both teams enter the matchup at 3-1 overall and 3-1 in the league.

Frostburg rallied past Fairmont State 41-34 in double overtime a week ago. The Bobcats trailed by as many as 19 points in the fourth quarter and outscored the Falcons 32-6 in the final quarter and both overtimes. It's the largest comeback for the Bobcats since they rallied past Wilkes in the NCAA Playoffs in 1993, an 18-point, fourth-quarter deficit.

Urbana comes to Bobcat Stadium for the first time with a 3-1 record. The Blue Knights opened the season at 3-0 behind wins over W.Va. Wesleyan (43-14), Charleston (28-20) and Wheeling (41-26). UU endured its first loss last Saturday to No. 5 ranked Notre Dame, 40-20.

WELCOME TO BOBCAT STADIUM
The Frostburg football program has been impressive over the last three seasons at Bobcat Stadium. During that span, FSU has won 17 games against just three losses.

In 2016, the Bobcats were a perfect 6-0, while a year ago, Frostburg was 4-0 at home during the regular season and defeated Western New England, 42-24, in the opening round of the NCAA Playoffs at Bobcat Stadium.

This fall, FSU is 1-1 at home with a 20-17 loss to W.Va. State and a 27-24 victory over West Liberty.

FSU SUCCESS IN OCTOBER
While the month of September has been a great month for Frostburg football, October has been even better as FSU boasts a 17-5 mark in the month over the last five seasons.

In fact, over the last three seasons the Bobcats have just one blemish on their schedule as they are 12-1 in October. FSU has won it's last seven games in the month after that blemish in early October of 2017.

Notre Dame (Ohio) was picked to win the league and received 10 of 11 first-place votes. Notre Dame advanced to the NCAA Playoff semifinals last fall.

30 IS THE MAGIC NUMBER
The Bobcats have scored over 30 points in two of four games this season and in nine of their 11 games a season ago. Under Fitzgerald, the Bobcats are 29-1 when scoring 30 or more.

GOOD THINGS COME IN THREES
Frostburg is currently riding a three-game winning streak after opening the season with a loss. The Bobcats have won at least three games in a row in each of the last five seasons.

A VICTORY WOULD
- Lift the Bobcats to 280-283-8 overall in 59 seasons
- Land Fitzgerald his 45th victory at the helm of Frostburg
- Be FSU's 18th win in the last 20 home games
- Land FSU its sixth-consecutive win on Homecoming
- Hand the Bobcats their eighth-straight win in October

TOUGH TO COME BY
In his five-plus seasons at the helm, Fitzgerald has led the Bobcats to a 27-1 record when holding opponents to less than 100 yards rushing.

WHO DOESN'T LIKE EXTRA FOOTBALL
During Fitzgerald's tenure in Western Maryland, Frostburg is 4-1 when a game needs to be decided in overtime. The Bobcats are 3-0 during that span in games that need two overtimes just as last week's thrilling 41-34 win over Fairmont couldn't be settled in just one extra frame.

The win over Fairmont marks the third-consecutive season that FSU has collected a win in OT.

Since Frostburg's first overtime game in 1999, the Bobcats are 7-5 all-time when a game needs more than the normal 60 minutes.

IN WILL WE TRUST
Frostburg graduate QB Will Brunson is in rare territory despite the recent success under center for the Bobcats. Brunson has throw for nine touchdowns through the first four games, including four last Thursday in the win at Fairmont.

Brunson's nine TDs are the most since Frostburg Hall of Fame QB Grant Burrough opened the 2002 campaign with nine scores.

Brunson is averaging 2.25 TDs per game and at that pace, he will finish fourth in the single season record book with just under 25 touchdown passes.

LEANING ON LAVAT
Junior RB Gavin Lavat is third in the MEC statistics in rushing this season, averaging 95.3 yards per game over FSU's first four games in Division II.

Lavat opened the season with 99 yards on 22 carries against W.Va. State and added 141 yards and three touchdowns on 17 attempts in a win over Concord. He rushed for 98 yards on 15 carries in a win over West Liberty.

Last week, he didn't have the best statistical game of the season, 43 yards on 24 carries, but he scored the final touchdown in regulation for the Bobcats to help send the game into OT.

MEC WEEKLY HONORS
Last Monday, the MEC office announced that junior DE Zach Strand was the league's Defensive Player of the Week marking the second-consecutive week that a Bobcat has taken home the weekly hardware.

Strand earned the award after finishing with six tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss and two sacks in the win over Fairmont. His first sack of the ballgame results in a safety for Frostburg as he took down Fairmont quarterback Takwan Crews-Naylor with 8:10 left in the first quarter.

Two weeks ago, junior kicker Jeremy Harrison was named the MEC's Co-Special Teams Player of the Week for his part in helping the Bobcats defeat West Liberty at home, 27-24.

Harrison connected on a pair of long field goals and averaged 57.2 yards on six kickoffs.

BOBCATS IN THE MEC
Through four MEC games this fall, Frostburg is ranked third in the league in scoring (34.3), fourth in rushing offense (157.0), eighth in passing offense (217.8) and seventh in total offense (374.8).

On the other side of the ball, the Bobcat defense leads the MEC in scoring (23.0), is ninth in rushing defense (174.8), fifth in passing defense (234.8), and  seventh in total defense (409.5).

Frostburg also leads the league in sacks (15) and has allowed the fewest sacks (1).

FINDING THE END ZONE
The Bobcats have scored 61 offensive touchdowns in each of the last two seasons. In 2017, Frostburg's 61 TDs broke the program record of 53 touchdowns that was set in 1990.

So far this fall, Frostburg is averaging 4.25 TDs per game and if that pace continues, the Bobcats will find the end zone nearly 47 times in their first season at DII.

LAST TIME OUT
Graduate quarterback Will Bunson threw for four touchdowns and Frostburg rallied from a 19-point, fourth-quarter deficit to defeat Fairmont State 41-34 in double overtime.

Brunson threw two touchdowns midway through the fourth quarter and junior running back Gavin Lavat scored a TD from four yards with 58 seconds left to force overtime.

Junior kicker Jeremy Harrison connected on a 41-yard FG in the first OT and Brunson hooked up with junior wideout Lincoln Ikwubuo for a nine-yard touchdown in the second to give FSU a 41-34 lead. It was then up to the Frostburg defense which held the Falcons on four downs at the 24.
