FROSTBURG, Md. – Frostburg scored three goals in each half, and sophomore Logan Gladden registered a hat trick as the Bobcats rebounded from an early hole for a dominating 6-1 victory over Hendrix, Saturday morning.

Gladden burst on the scene after she came off the bench for her first career hat trick. She scored just before halftime and contributed two more goals in the second stanza as FSU posted its most goals since scoring 11 against Notre Dame last season.
Gladden not only scored three times, but she helped get Frostburg's attack rolling when she assisted Sam Coffey in the 16
th minute. Coffey's tally came seven minutes after Marie Slop scored the Warriors only goal on a penalty stroke at 8:35.
Less than two minutes after Coffey's equalizer, Frostburg wasted no time in taking a lead that the Bobcats would not relinquish. Junior Holly Van Wie scored for the second consecutive game by finding the back of the cage after a senior Elizabeth Davis' shot was deflected to the waiting Van Wie.
Gladden's first goal of the season and her Frostburg career came with under a minute remaining in the first half. Gladden set up Coffey for the first goal of the game, and Coffey returned the favor by assisting on Gladden's tally late in the half.
Hendrix thwarted several Bobcat scoring attempts to begin the second half; however Gladden cashed in with her second goal of the contest in the 50
th minute. Freshman Emily Jetton collected her first collegiate assist by forwarding a pass to Gladden along the left side, who buried the shot.
Junior Cara Morell joined Coffey, Van Wie and Gladden in the scoring column with a penalty stroke goal in the 61
st minute. Gladden wrapped up the scoring by finding the mark in the 67
th minute off a rebounded shot by Morell.
Frostburg outshot Hendrix 30-11, with a 23-6 edge in shots on goal. The Bobcats collected six penalty corners while Hendrix registered five.
Gladden's seven points on the day were the most by a Bobcat field hockey player since Alexandra Darrow posted eight points against Bethany College in 2015.
Senior goalkeeper Nicole Leighty earned the victory after allowing one goal in 35 minutes of action. Leighty made three saves, while the lone Hendrix tally was earned on a penalty stroke. Sophomore Sierra Smizer worked a scoreless second half for Frostburg and registered one save.
The Bobcats host Hood College on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
