ALTOONA, Pa. – Frostburg State used a high-powered offensive attack and cruised to a 3-0 win over Penn State Altoona in non-conference women's volleyball action Wednesday night.
With the win, Frostburg increases its record to 7-2 while Penn State Altoona slips to 2-7 with the loss. The Bobcats have won four-straight games and seven of their past eight.
The trio of senior Naya Cheatem, sophomore Ashante Corey-Bey and sophomore Biamba Tshitenge accounted for 26 of the Bobcats' 38 kills. As a team, Frostburg hit .318 for the match compared to the Lions -.011 hitting percentage.
Overall, six Bobcats had at least 10 total attacks in the match.
Senior Madelyn Torres continued to put up impressive numbers with 17 assists. Sophomore Katie Onyundo finished with 11 of the Bobcats' 34 assists. Senior Lindsey Scepura paced the Bobcats with 17 digs.
