Diggs Tabbed ECAC DIII Women’s Basketball South Rookie of the Year

DANBURY, Conn. – Frostburg State sophomore guard Victoria Diggs received yet another postseason award, as the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) announced its Division III Women's Basketball South Region All-Star team.
 
Diggs was tabbed the ECAC DIII Women's Basketball South Rookie of the Year.

Diggs, a sophomore academically, helped lead an impressive turnaround for the Frostburg State women's basketball team, who finished the year with a 12-14 overall record behind a 10-8 mark in conference play.  The Bobcats earned a berth in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Tournament for the first time since the 2012-13 school year.
 
Diggs appeared in 26 games, starting 21, and ended the season third on the team in scoring average. The sophomore finished the year averaging 11.3 points per game, shooting 37.5% from the field. Her 35.3% three-point field goal percentage was the highest on the team and ranked fifth in the CAC.
 
Diggs reached double figures in scoring 14 times, including four 20-point scoring outings. She ended the year scoring in double figures in seven of the last eight games of the season. Diggs tallied a career-high 34 points against Wesley on December 11, 2016.
 
She also had 58 assists and 45 steals.
