Mcrobie Nets Hat-Trick in Victory Over Saint Vincent

Frostburg, Md. – Freshman forward Josh Mcrobie scored three goals as the Frostburg State men's soccer team defeated Saint Vincent, 5-0, in the final game of the Frostburg State Tournament on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.

Mcrobie scored the first three goals of the game for Frostburg, notching two in the first half and one in the second.  Mcrobie's first-career goal as a Bobcat came in the 20th minute, when he drilled a shot into the net to make it 1-0 FSU. Just over eight minutes later, Mcrobie scored again to give the Bobcats a 2-0 lead. Mcrobie's final goal came in the 51st minute and gave the Bobcats a 3-0 edge. Kelvin Tata, Hendrik de Wit and Ernie Williams all assisted on Mcrobie's three goals.
 
The last time a Bobcat men's soccer player notched a hat-trick was October of 2014, when current senior Nabayee Tesfu tallied all three goals in a 3-2 victory over York (Pa.).
 
The other Frostburg goals came from junior Rodrigo Valenzuela and sophomore Serigne Gueye.
 
Frostburg State (1-1-0) had 23 shots in the match, and held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.
 
Saint Vincent (0-2-0) goalie Nick Bohn allowed two goals and made seven saves, while backup Matthew Balas surrendered three goals while making four saves.
 
Frostburg State keeper Hassan Mostafa (senior) made two saves and did not allow a goal in his 74 minutes of action. Mostafa was relieved by keeper Ryan Zovko (sophomore), who did not see any shots in his 4 minutes of time on the pitch.
 
Frostburg State resumes play on Wednesday, September 7 when the Bobcats travel to face Johns Hopkins at 4:00 p.m.
 
At the conclusion of the tournament, each participating school had three representatives that were selected as all-tournament honorees. That List of honorees is below.
