FROSTBURG, Md. - The Frostburg State field hockey team earned a convincing victory, 11-1, over Notre Dame (Md.) Monday night at Bobcat Stadium.

Frostburg (4-2) used seven first half goals to defeat Notre Dame (Md.) (1-3) and earn its third-straight victory.

The Bobcats held a decisive advantage in shots, 58-1, which is the most shots attempted in a game since 2012, when Frostburg had 66 in an 11-0 shutout of Bethany. Frostburg also attempted 23 penalty corners in the match.

Sophomore Lindsay Gardiner got the Bobcats off to a quick start, scoring two goals in the opening five minutes of action. Senior Jacquelyn Nava had an assist on the second goal.

Sophomore Molly Pickard followed suit in the ninth minute off a cross-crease pass from sophomore Erin Barker to give Frostburg a 3-0 advantage.

Senior Taylor Bowen scored on a snap shot from about 15 yards out in the 12
th minute to make it 4-0.

Frostburg added three more goals in the first half courtesy of freshman Gabby Sandy, junior Elizabeth Davis and sophomore Lexie Grimm. Pickard notched an assist on the final goal of the first half, which gave the Bobcats a 7-0 edge.

The Bobcats tallied four more goals in the second half. Davis scored for the second time of the evening in the 36
th minute off a pass by Barker. Barker earned another assist when she made a pass to Sandy in the 40
th minute to put Frostburg up 9-0.

Sophomore Samantha Schaffer closed out the scoring with two more goals that both came in the 50
th minute.

Notre Dame (Md.) got on the board late with a goal from sophomore Megan Morales. Senior keeper De'Ja Martin made 33 saves on the evening for the Gators.

Senior goalie Jaqueline Gover did not see any shots and earned the win for the Bobcats.

Frostburg will be in action at 5:00 p.m. Wednesday at Wilson.
