GLENSIDE, Pa. –The Frostburg State women's lacrosse team used a huge first half, aided by freshman Logan Brady's four goals, to pick up its third win in four games after defeating Arcadia, 16-13, Wednesday afternoon.
Despite Arcadia (3-3) rallying back from a 12-7 deficit to tie the game at 13-13 with 10:43 to play, Frostburg (4-4) used goals from junior Megan Hart (8:24), junior Molly Hart (6:23) and Brady (1:13) to put the game out of reach and come away with the win.
Brady was a force to be reckoned with all across the field, with seven draws, two ground balls and two caused turnovers to go along with her four goals. Molly Hart and sophomore Courtney Ridenour each tallied a hat trick.
After the Knights opened up the game with two goals, the Bobcats ripped wide the lead with eight of the next nine tallies to race ahead 8-3. Both teams traded the next two goals, but Frostburg closed out the half with goals from Ridenour and Molly Hart to lead 11-6 at the half.
Both teams traded goals again following the intermission, but Arcadia used a 6-0 run to catch up and knot the game at 13-13.
FSU was nearly perfect on clears (15-of-16) and picked up four more ground balls (15-11) than Arcadia.
